Softball Recap: Melbourne Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Melbourne can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hoxie Mustangs by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in March.

Melbourne saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kallie Thornton, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Melbourne's loss dropped their record down to 19-7-1. As for Hoxie, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3.

As of now, neither Melbourne nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
