On Thursday, Hillsborough faced West Orange in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Hillsborough Raiders managed a 58-54 victory over the West Orange Mountaineers. The win was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won three matches in a row.

West Orange's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anaya Karriem, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Karriem has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 18 times she's played. Rhyan Watt was another key player, putting up 17 points and four steals.

Hillsborough's record now sits at 17-5. As for West Orange, their loss dropped their record down to 20-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hillsborough will challenge Long Branch on Thursday. As for West Orange, they will square off against Memorial on Thursday. West Orange is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
