Basketball Recap: Eminence Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Eminence came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 53.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Riverton Parke Panthers by a score of 46-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eels also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2021.

Eminence was led to victory by Khloee Kirk and Sophia Saucerman. Kirk posted 21 points, while Saucerman put up 18 points. Saucerman's afternoon made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emma Webb, who had five points.

Riverton Parke's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haylee Mathas, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Mathas has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Corinne Loomis, who put up nine points and five boards.

Eminence has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.5 points per game. As for Riverton Parke, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Coincidentally, Eminence and Riverton Parke will both be playing Columbus Christian the next time they take the court. Riverton Parke will head out to face Columbus Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Eminence will play them later in the day, at 1:30 p.m.
