Baseball Recap: Tate Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Tate's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Pine Forest Eagles as Tate made off with a 13-0 victory. Considering the Aggies have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sheppard Edgar looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Nathan Connors and Taite Davis did most of the damage at the plate: Connors scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Davis scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Lance Brady was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Tate has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. Pine Forest is on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tate will square off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Tate surely won't give up without a fight. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up.
