Basketball Recap: Milford Christian Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

If Calvary Baptist wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Milford Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Bethany Mateo. The Milford Christian Conquerors walked away with a 57-49 win over the Calvary Baptist Knights on Saturday thanks in part to Mateo, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 16 times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Kailynn Coulter, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 steals. Those 12 steals gave her a new career-high.

Milford Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points over those games. Calvary Baptist is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Milford Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 33-29 victory against Granite Baptist Academy on the 1st. Calvary Baptist has also already played their next contest (against Lighthouse Baptist Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
