Baseball Recap: Tigard Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Tigard came out on top against Lakeridge on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Tigers walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Pacers. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Pacers on Tuesday, they had to take a 7-4 loss.

Alexander Pearson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other pitching news, Ryan Frye looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Dominic Taylor was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Landon DuChene was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Tigard's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8-1. As for Lakeridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tigard beat the Pacers by a score of 10-7 on Friday.
