Preview: Catalina Foothills vs. Cholla
Catalina Foothills has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge Cholla at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cholla took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Catalina Foothills, who comes in off a win.
Even though Catalina Foothills has not done well against Salpointe Catholic recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Catalina Foothills sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Salpointe Catholic.
Catalina Foothills was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Bryce Weege and
Luke Sadalla, who scored.
Meanwhile, Cholla didn't get the result they wanted in their first contest with Rio Rico on Friday. They will be looking for a result a little better than the 3-1 loss they were dealt on Friday when they meet later in the season. Unfortunately, the result was nothing new for they as the team has yet to pick up a win this season.
Catalina Foothills' victory bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Cholla, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9-1.
Everything went Catalina Foothills' way against Cholla in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as Catalina Foothills made off with a 4-1 win. Will Catalina Foothills repeat their success, or does Cholla have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
