Baseball Recap: Skyview Has No Trouble Against Nampa

Skyview barely beat Nampa the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hawks yet this season.

John Tyson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Ledger Downs also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Skyview is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Nampa, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Skyview will face off against Caldwell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nampa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Kelly at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
