Flag Football Recap: Davis Sr. Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Davis Sr.'s offense. They took a blow against the Rocklin Thunder on Thursday, falling 45-0. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 430th, while the Thunder are ranked 197th).

Davis Sr. didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Daniela Cabrera-Carrasquilla, Anya Sivertsen Ng, Suzzette Cruz, and Suhela Lamba picked up one apiece. Cruz has been hot recently, having posted at least one interception the last three times she's played.

Davis Sr.'s loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Rocklin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davis Sr. will welcome Whitney at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 9.6 points per game this season, so the Blue Devils' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rocklin, they will square off against Folsom at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.47 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
