With a playoff win on the line, Verdugo Hills rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Franklin Panthers as they made off with an 81-55 win. The Dons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Verdugo Hills was led to victory by Amiyya Castanos and Rayleen Castanos. Amiyya en route to 34 points and five steals, while Rayleen to rack up 28 points along with six steals and five assists. The dominant performance gave Amiyya a new career-high in points. Elaine Oh was another key player, putting up five points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Verdugo Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Verdugo Hills is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Looking ahead, Verdugo Hills will challenge Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Verdugo Hills surely won't give up without a fight. Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
