Soccer Recap: Grand Canyon Comes Up Short

Grand Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Camp Verde Cowboys. If Grand Canyon were looking for revenge after losing 8-0 to Camp Verde when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Grand Canyon's goal came courtesy of Jorge Gomez Taleon, who's now up to 11 this season.

Grand Canyon now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Camp Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season.

Grand Canyon didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, an 8-1 loss against Red Rock on the 21st. As for Camp Verde, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-2 victory against Chino Valley on the 16th.
