Basketball Recap: Dj Postell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Archer

Grovetown lost to Archer back in February, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Warriors came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 62-54. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Tigers are ranked 311th).

Grovetown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dj Postell, who went 6-for-15 en route to 20 points. Postell is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 43% in the last three games he's played. Amare Pryce was another key player, shooting 70% from the field to rack up 18 points.

Grovetown pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points over those games. As for Archer, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Grovetown has already played their next contest, a 60-53 victory against Lakeside on the 13th. Archer and Winder-Barrow will compete for holiday cheer at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
