Baseball Game Preview: Langley Saxons vs. Wakefield Warriors

The Langley Saxons will square off against the Wakefield Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wakefield took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Langley, who comes in off a win.

Langley came out on top against Charles J. Colgan on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Saxons took their matchup against the Sharks 7-4.

Meanwhile, Wakefield lost 9-3 to Yorktown last Thursday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Wakefield got a good showing from Ryan Beck, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Beck has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Beau Branch was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Adam Barrington was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Langley, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

Langley couldn't quite get it done against Wakefield in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Saxons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
