Volleyball Recap: Riverdale Christian Comes Up Short

Riverdale Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Legacy Christian Academy Lions, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Riverdale Christian took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 27-25.

Janace Wilhite paced Riverdale Christian's offense, picking up five kills. Wilhite got some help from Erin Metheny and her five assists. Addyson Casey controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Among those leading the charge was Miley Rubio, who had five digs and five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.

Riverdale Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Riverdale Christian will face off against rival Laton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Legacy Christian Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Alpaugh at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
