Softball Recap: Chantilly Chargers vs. Westfield Bulldogs

Chantilly barely beat Westfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Chargers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 13-5 victory on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Chargers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Bella Eig spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Izzy Dilber was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Emily McKeown also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Chantilly's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Westfield, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

As of now, neither Chantilly nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
