The Jupiter Warriors will challenge the Boone Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Jupiter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cypress Creek, sneaking past 4-3.
Sasha Seidel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jupiter saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Basen, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Boone waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bulldogs 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Braves have posted since May 2, 2024.
Boone also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Charltotte Tellez gave up only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.
At the plate, Aracelys Gonzalez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Saliah Collazo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Jupiter's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Boone, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.
Boone's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Jupiter has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Boone, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Jupiter keep running through batters, or will the Braves buck the trend?
Everything went Jupiter's way against Boone in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Jupiter made off with an 11-0 win. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
