The Blair Oaks Falcons will square off against the Helias Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Blair Oaks is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Fatima just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Comets, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since October 28, 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-11.
Meanwhile, Helias had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Father Tolton. The Crusaders not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0).
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-14.
Blair Oaks better focus on containing Alyssa Scherr and Sophie Verslues as the pair were huge in Helias' win. Scherr had four digs and three aces, while Verslues had eight digs. That's the most digs Scherr has posted over her last five matchups. Liza Boyer also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Helias' win bumped their record up to 25-1-1. As for Blair Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Blair Oaks has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Helias struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
