Soccer Game Preview: Tascosa vs. Coronado

The Tascosa Rebels are taking a road trip to challenge the Coronado Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tascosa will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Palo Duro on Friday. Tascosa never let Palo Duro get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Dons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Tascosa hit Palo Duro with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alaina Gomez (2), Karina Garcia, and Tabitha Fowler.

Meanwhile, Coronado waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Westerners 4-1. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Westerners are ranked 545th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 10-6-2. As for Tascosa, their win bumped their record up to 9-5-4.

Tascosa skirted past Coronado 1-0 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tascosa since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
