River Islands took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Kimball, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Riptide won by a set and slipped past the Jaguars 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Riptide as they're now sitting on six straight.

River Islands was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-6.

River Islands' victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Kimball, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

River Islands will venture away from home to square off against Lathrop at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kimball, they will host Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Jaguars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
