Soccer Game Preview: La Porte vs. Angleton

The La Porte Bulldogs will take on the Angleton Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. La Porte's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

La Porte fell victim to Ball and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly two goals.

While Angleton's fans didn't get a definitive result on Tuesday, they were treated to the team's highest-scoring tie of the season. Neither they nor Iowa Colony could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Wildcats have been dealt a draw since back in January.

With that draw, Angleton's record moves to 5-2-4. As for La Porte, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7-1.

La Porte might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Angleton when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can La Porte avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
