Softball Recap: Lee Starts Season with Loss at Home

Lee unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 9-1 to the King Panthers on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ganders of the 8-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Lee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gia Graham, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Lee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Lee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-7 defeat against College Park on the 13th. King has also already played their next contest (against Brazoswood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
