Hillcrest waltzed into their match on Friday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Cottonwood Colts. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Hillcrest got a massive performance out of Bailey Terry, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Terry a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Savil Hughes, who went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI.
Hillcrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cottonwood only posted an OBP of .368.
Hillcrest's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.
