Baseball Recap: Coventry Takes a Loss

Coventry extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They lost 11-2 to the Ravenna Ravens. Surprisingly, this marked the Comets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Ravenna, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

For Ravenna's part, Jeriah Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits.

At the plate, Peter Jennings was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Brazelton, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

While Coventry had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
