Basketball Game Preview: Little Rock Southwest Gryphons vs. Central Tigers

Little Rock Southwest hasn't had much luck against Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Little Rock Southwest Gryphons will host the Central Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Little Rock Southwest is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 27th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They were outmatched by Jonesboro and fell 64-17.

Meanwhile, Central faced Conway in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Central took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conway. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Central's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 15-5. As for Little Rock Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17.

Little Rock Southwest took a serious blow against Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 68-28. Can Little Rock Southwest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
