Baseball Game Preview: Riverdale Baptist Crusaders vs. Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons

The Riverdale Baptist Crusaders will head out to challenge the Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Tuesday, Riverdale Baptist didn't have quite enough to beat Fairfax HomeSchool and fell 4-3. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Riverdale Baptist saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was RILEY BLOUNT, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. HARVON ANDERSON was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Our Lady of Good Counsel faced Archbishop Curley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Falcons fell just short of the Friars by a score of 10-9.

Our Lady of Good Counsel has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season. As for Riverdale Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Riverdale Baptist has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Our Lady of Good Counsel struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Riverdale Baptist's way against Our Lady of Good Counsel in their previous meeting back in April of 2017, as Riverdale Baptist made off with an 18-3 victory. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
