Basketball Recap: North Stafford Comes Up Short

North Stafford lost against Colonial Forge back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The North Stafford Wolverines fell 46-38 to the Colonial Forge Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Eagles are ranked 81st).

Leading Colonial Forge to victory were Taysean Jones and Finn Perschau. Jones went 7 of 9 en route to 17 points and five boards, while Perschau went 7 for 17 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Jones is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Dakari Phillips, who posted four points.

North Stafford's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Colonial Forge, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

North Stafford will face off against Brooke Point at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Colonial Forge, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against George C. Marshall at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Colonial Forge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.7 points per game this season.
