Softball Game Preview: Vale Vikings vs. Baker/Powder Valley Bulldogs

The Vale Vikings will head out to take on the Baker/Powder Valley Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Vale and Ontario had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Tigers on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Baker/Powder Valley waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Tigers 25-1. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season.

Vale's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Baker/Powder Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Vale took their win against Baker/Powder Valley in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
