Recap: Borden Braves vs. Union County Patriots
The Borden Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 62-25 victory over Union County on the road. That 62-25 margin sets a new team best for Borden this season.
Nick Watterson and Gavin Davis certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Watterson scored nine points, while Davis scored seven points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watterson has scored all season.
The win makes it two in a row for Borden and bumps their season record up to 8-3. As for Union County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Borden will face off against New Washington at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. New Washington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Borden is ranked 179th). Union County is on the road again on Saturday and play against Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th. Hopefully Rushville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday.
