Football Game Preview: Dutchtown Griffins vs. Live Oak Eagles

Dutchtown is a perfect 3-0 against Live Oak since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Griffins will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

On Thursday, Dutchtown didn't have quite enough to beat East Ascension and fell 30-28.

Meanwhile, Live Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-52 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Amant. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gators 45-41 in the first quarter.

Live Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Dutchtown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Dutchtown against Live Oak in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 42-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Griffins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
