Volleyball Recap: Forest Hills Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Forest Hills had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Central Cambria Red Devils.

Forest Hills had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-21.

Forest Hills was led to victory by Taylor Snyder and Morgan Gdula. Snyder had 11 digs and three aces, while Gdula had 31 digs and five aces. Those 31 digs gave Gdula a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Forest Hills was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 17 consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Central Cambria still got an impressive performance from Riley Kauffman, who had four digs and three aces. Kauffman has been hot, having also posted 15 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Forest Hills' record is now 19-3-2. As for Central Cambria, they moved to 20-4-1 with that loss, which also ended their ten-match winning streak.

Coming up, Forest Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against Bellefonte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Cambria, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Cambria Heights on the 29th.
