Baseball Recap: Mt. Shasta Takes a Loss

Mt. Shasta suffered their closest loss since April 26, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Modoc Braves by a score of 7-5. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mt. Shasta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Mangrum, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. Mangrum has become a key player for the Bears: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise.

Mt. Shasta now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Modoc, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mt. Shasta beat the Braves by a score of 4-3 later that day.
