Volleyball Recap: Dalton Starts Season with Victory Against Northwest Whitfield

Dalton had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Northwest Whitfield Bruins. The Catamounts haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

While Dalton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 28-26.

Dalton can attribute much of their success to Anjalee Lemons, who had seven assists and three aces. Those seven assists gave Lemons a new career-high.

Coincidentally, Dalton and Northwest Whitfield will both be playing Coahulla Creek the next time they take the court. The Catamounts will head out to face the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bruins will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
