District 10 Region 1 A recap October 22, 2013

Conneaut Area was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in District 10 Region 1 A. Conneaut Area defeated Farrell 34-19 earlier in the week.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Lakeview beat Sharpsville 19-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Sailors.

West Middlesex's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trey Staunch threw for 145 and 2 touchdowns and Dillon Fair had 80 yards receiving. On the ground Eric Lucich chipped in 266 yards. Nate Patten helped West Middlesex's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 25 yards.

Lucich provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Big Reds defeated Kennedy Catholic. Lucich's favorite target this week was Fair, who caught 4 passes for 80 yards.

Lucich was a force in the backfield as West Middlesex beat the Golden Eagles.

Fair was the best wideout in the league this week as Ed Roberson's team defeated Kennedy Catholic. Patten helped West Middlesex's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 25 yards.

The Big Reds' Staunch and Fair led District 10 Region 1 A in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Staunch has thrown for 999 yards this season, while Fair has 34 catches for 432 yards. Blake Reddick from Lakeview leads the league in rushing with 1,695 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when West Middlesex's Fair goes up against Dan York's team's Zach VanDusen.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Big Reds and the Sailors face off next week.

Next week's game between West Middlesex and Lakeview will feature a good passing match up as Staunch will test his arm against VanDusen's defensive ability.

As it stands, the Big Reds are in third, while the Sailors are in first.

The league will see a high scoring game when West Middlesex and Lakeview face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Big Reds comes in having scored 197 this season, while the Sailors have scored 270. West Middlesex scored 55 points last week as it topped Archie Donofrio's team.

The Big Reds took down the Golden Eagles 55-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Lucich ran for 266 yards and caught 1 pass for 14 yards in the win.
