Softball Recap: Arrowhead Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against United Christian Academy last Thursday, Arrowhead Christian came back down to earth. The Arrowhead Christian Eagles fell just short of the Redlands Terriers by a score of 9-8 on Monday. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Gracie Chavez and Gianna Dogero stepped up to the plate in a big way. Chavez went 3-for-5 with one home run and three RBI, while Dogero scored a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Chavez is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leila Mouri, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Arrowhead Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Arrowhead Christian dropped their record down to 2-1 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Redlands, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Arrowhead Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-5 defeat against Ontario Christian on the 25th. As for Redlands, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-7 loss against Palm Desert on the 26th.
