Softball Recap: Davis Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Davis had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Farmington Phoenix. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Serena Roth made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Riley Jaques was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Chloe Peery was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Davis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Farmington struck out 11 times.

Davis' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
