Baseball Recap: Jackson Find Success

Jackson never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Monroe County Tigers with a sharp 19-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Aggies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Jay Morris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julian Hunt, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jackson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Jackson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Coming up, Jackson will take on Richton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Aggies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Monroe County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Clarke County at 5:30 p.m.
