Baseball Recap: Van Horn Comes Up Short

Summit Christian Academy hit Van Horn with a five-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons lost 12-1 to the Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 on Tuesday.

Van Horn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Gray, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Van Horn has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Summit Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Van Horn will head out to square off against Center at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Summit Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Paul Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
