Basketball Recap: Show Low Takes a Loss

Show Low fought the good fight in their overtime match against Alchesay on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alchesay Falcons. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Alchesay found their leader in sophomore Micah Yazzie, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Yazzie has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Gooday, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points.

Show Low's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Alchesay, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

Show Low will venture away from home to challenge Monument Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Show Low has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 207 points over their last three contests. As for Alchesay, they will welcome Snowflake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alchesay is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
