Lake hasn't had much luck against GlenOak recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Streaks will head out on the road to face off against the Golden Eagles at 6:45 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.
Lake managed to slip by Perry the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Streaks lost 3-0 to the Panthers on Thursday.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Perry scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-19.
Lake's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sydney Hedrick, who had 18 assists and five digs, and Michaela Slayman, who had ten assists and three digs.
Meanwhile, GlenOak came up short against Marlington on Wednesday, falling 3-0.
GlenOak was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 27-25, 25-20.
Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for GlenOak, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
Lake beat GlenOak 3-1 when the teams last played back in August. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Golden Eagles' Mya Smith, who had 21 digs. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Blue Streaks still be able to contain Smith? There's only one way to find out.
