Recap: Maconaquah Braves vs. North Miami Warriors
The Maconaquah Braves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to North Miami. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Maconaquah in their matchups with North Miami: they've now lost three in a row.
Defeat or not, Maconaquah got some senior leadership from Miranda Stoll who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and Bailey Carson who scored 13 points along with 4 steals. Stoll scored a full 47.6% of Maconaquah's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Miami to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaiden Hanley, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Hanley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Laney Musall, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds.
Maconaquah's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Miami, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Maconaquah will head out on the road to face off against Northfield at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Northfield is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. North Miami will take on Hamilton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Hamilton Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five last Tuesday.
