Russellville dropped down to 6-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. The matchup between the Golden Tigers and the Athens Golden Eagles didn't end well, with the Golden Tigers falling 28-12. The game marked the Golden Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Whit Goodwin threw for 52 yards and one touchdown. James Devaney was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards. On the ground, Tarus Davis rushed for 71 yards.

As for Athens, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average over those games.

Athens got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Terron Williams out in front who rushed for 42 yards and one score, and also picked up 41 receiving yards. Xavier Edwards helped out on the ground, rushing for 101 yards.
