Softball Recap: Fannett Metal's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fannett Metal hadn't done well against Everett recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Fannett Metal had just enough and edged out Everett 4-3. The win was nothing new for Fannett Metal as they're now sitting on five straight.

Harleigh Detweiler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Fannett Metal let Kylie Arnold and Sadie Wolf run wild. Arnold went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Wolf went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Arnold has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilian Daniel, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Fannett Metal's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Everett, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Fannett Metal wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-1 loss against Claysburg-Kimmel on the 30th. As for Everett, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-2 win against McConnellsburg on the 1st.
