Volleyball Game Preview: Oak Ridge Wildcats vs. Knoxville Central Bobcats

The Oak Ridge Wildcats will head out to square off against the Knoxville Central Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Oak Ridge came up short against Maryville on Monday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Red Rebels: they've now lost five in a row.

Oak Ridge was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-22, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Knoxville Central had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Beavers.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Knoxville Central was: they took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11.

Oak Ridge better keep an eye on Jolie Sheddan. She was instrumental in Knoxville Central's win, getting 12 assists and two aces. Rhealee Haunhorst also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Knoxville Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces in three consecutive contests.

Oak Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Knoxville Central, their record now sits at 14-3.

Oak Ridge couldn't quite get it done against Knoxville Central in their previous meeting back in August as they fell 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
