Basketball Recap: Bayonne Comes Up Short

Bayonne was the 78-43 winner over Pioneer Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bayonne Bees took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneer Academy Eagles on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Bees have lost by exactly 11 points.

Bayonne has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. The victory (which was Pioneer Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Bayonne and Pioneer Academy are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Bayonne will take on Dickinson on Thursday. As for Pioneer Academy, they will square off against Timothy Christian on February 28th.
