Volleyball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grovetown Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-13.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Grovetown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-16.

Coincidentally, Newton and Grovetown will both be playing Heritage the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rams will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
