Baseball Recap: Lake Oswego Triumphs

After losing to Tualatin the last time they met, Lake Oswego decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lakers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Timberwolves 2-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Lakers' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Rylan McClaskey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has become a key player for Lake Oswego: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-14 otherwise.

At the plate, Lake Oswego saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Gerritz, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Gerritz has hit this season.

Lake Oswego's record now sits at 11-15. As for Tualatin, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 15-9-1.

When Lake Oswego and Tualatin next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Lakers will square off against Ida B. Wells and their ten-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Tualatin will try to stop Sprague's three-game winning streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
