Basketball Game Preview: Temple City Rams vs. La Canada Spartans

Temple City is 0-10 against La Canada since February of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. The Temple City Rams will venture away from home to face off against the La Canada Spartans at 7:00 p.m.

Temple City is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They came up short against San Marino, falling 56-34. The contest was a 23-23 toss-up at halftime, but the Rams couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, La Canada waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 79-64 win over the Vikings. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Vikings are ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

La Canada has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Temple City, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.

Temple City might still be hurting after the 60-39 loss they got from La Canada when the teams last played two weeks ago. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Temple City was down 35-10.
