Softball Recap: Temescal Canyon Titans vs. Quartz Hill Royals
Temescal Canyon proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 17) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Quartz Hill Royals 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since February 22nd.
CIARA BABCOCK made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off 12 hits. BABCOCK was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on NIA HALL, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was SAMI OLSON, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Temescal Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
