Soccer Game Preview: Eagle Ridge Academy vs. Stargate School

Eagle Ridge Academy is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Thursday. They will venture away from home to challenge the Stargate School Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Eagle Ridge Academy had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the ten-goal drubbing they dealt Fort Lupton on Monday. Eagle Ridge Academy's defense stepped up to hand Fort Lupton a 10-0 shutout. Eagle Ridge Academy haven't had any issues with Fort Lupton recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stargate School). They put the hurt on Northglenn with a sharp 7-0 victory on Monday. Considering Stargate School's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Their offense was hitting Northglenn from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Danie Lewis led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Eagle Ridge Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Stargate School, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.
