Baseball Game Preview: Beaumont Cougars vs. Redlands East Valley Wildcats

For the second straight game, Beaumont will face off against Redlands East Valley. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Beaumont has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while Redlands East Valley will arrive with ten straight wins.

Beaumont managed to slip by Redlands East Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars came up short against the Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 10-4.

For Redlands East Valley's part, Connor Towns was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave Towns a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Rivera, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Redlands East Valley's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Beaumont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.
